A friend of mine just lost her child and I can't imagine for a second what she's going through. I've had friends in the past who have dealt with miscarriages and I know it must be hard, but to give birth to a child, hold his hand, and then lose him must make one feel utterly betrayed by God. Even though the baby did not live long, it is so obvious the love my friend had for him and I know that eventually her love for him will get her through it. She has a great support network around her, including the man she loves who is feeling the same pain, as he has lost a child as well. They'll get through it together. I wish them all the luck in the world. It is not going to happen quickly, but the pain will ease with time and I hope that she can continue to be the energetic, bubbly, and outgoing person I remember her being in high school. Nothing changes a person like the loss of someone close, particularly the loss of someone with whom you have developed a bond like a mother does with her child.
No words can begin to offer the comfort I want to offer, but trust that my heart is with you during this time.
